Carrie Green’s book, Studies of Familiar Birds, is forthcoming from Able Muse Press in 2020. She earned an M.F.A. at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and has received grants from the Kentucky Foundation for Women, the Kentucky Arts Council, and the Louisiana Division of the Arts. Her poems have appeared in Beloit Poetry Journal, Poetry Northwest, River Styx, Flyway, Blackbird, Cave Wall, DIAGRAM, and elsewhere. Carrie’s poetry manuscripts have been named finalists in the Anthony Hecht Poetry Prize, the Crab Orchard First Book Prize, the Crab Orchard Series Open Competition, the White Pine Press Poetry Prize, the Anhinga Press Robert Dana Prize in Poetry, the Cider Press Review Poetry Prize, the Richard Snyder Publication Prize, and the Backwaters Prize. Originally from DeLand, Florida, she lives in Lexington, Kentucky, and works as a reference librarian in a public library.
